The Mediterranean territory is, in the sense of natural and wild life of Turkey and the world, one of the important areas, which maintains its diversity. Studies are on going to help creatures maintain their existence and to stop the rapid pollution of this area. For this reason, the region of Termessos and Olympus at the province Antalya, have been determined as National Park territories. The aim is to protect the historical buildings, the vegetation and the wild animals. | |||||||
The territory of Üç Adalar (the three islands) is the territory where the Mediterranean seals named as "Monachus Monachus" live and proliferate. 50 of the existing 300 Mediterranean seals are living here. "Caretta Caretta's" a kind of water turtle can be found in the bays of Ulupınar (Çıralı). Both species are under protection. | |||||||
